Forsyth County Courthouse and Jail

The $100 million Forsyth County Jail and Courthouse project includes a 160,000 SF courthouse and 175,000 SF of jail space, as well as a parking facility for 800 vehicles. Since the facility’s opening in 2014, Forsyth County has maintained a successful contract with CGL, where CGL manages all aspects of facility maintenance on the justice campus. CGL is responsible for maintenance of all building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Security, Electrical, Kitchen & Laundry, Fire/Life Safety), CMMS management, and managing all specialty contractors.

CGL has six maintenance technicians and a Facility Manager on-site in Forsyth County to manage all aspects of preventive and reactive maintenance. CGL’s on-site staff includes electricians, locksmiths, HVAC mechanics, plumbers, and electronics security specialists. CGL also performs courthouse-specific maintenance services for Forsyth County, such as Audio/Visual maintenance to ensure continuous courtroom availability.

CGL’s Facility Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations and service delivery. The Facility Manager reviews and issues work orders, develops work schedules, assigns work orders to technicians, manages procurement and inventories, develops and reviews budgets, and interacts daily with justice center leadership. The Facility Manager is also a skilled technician and performs preventive and reactive maintenance when necessary.
